 Teshinkai Karate takes its roots from Kyokushin karate, the primary style of International Sabaki Karate Do Te Shin Kai Founder Director & Grand Master Kancho Barry Johnston. Teshinkai teaches traditional foundations and utilises modern concepts with sabaki techniques to improve the success rate of students practising the art. Teshinkai Karate brings together the energy of the mind, body and spirit. It will increase self-confidence, mental focus, and self-discipline, build balance and coordination, and reduce  stress.These effects are potent, long-lasting and can profoundly impact all aspects of the Karate-ka’s life. Kancho Barry Johnston's karate journey began in 1971 but it was in 1984 that he took the leap of opening his own dojo and as a result of a lifetime of love and dedication for martial arts, Teshinkai Karate was born.
